Dennis Eley

The Host

Dr. Dennis Eley Jr. is a 26-year Navy Veteran from the U.S. Navy. He retired in 2006 as Chief Warrant Officer (W3). He has been a civilian servant with the Federal Government since January 2010. He started as an H.R. Specialist and soon was handpicked to become the agency's first Wounded Warrior Coordinator at the San Diego Operations Center. Now, he is an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist with the Department of Navy. In addition, he was recently promoted as the San Diego Market Equal Employment Opportunity Manager with the Defense Health Agency (DHA).

While his professional career was taking off, God called him to become a pastor in 2014 in the area of helping military families. His church mission statement is “Transforming the World, One Person at a Time.” His calling to God crosses over into his professional occupation, in which Dr. Eley provides two main annual events – Military Breakfast & Veteran’s Gospel Concert – to combine groups of people to honor our military while worshipping our God!  Some successes in his federal career are as follows: His WW team was recognized for their stellar support of the Wounded Warrior program in the southwest region by the Dept. of the Navy, Office of Civilian Human Resources, which awarded them the “Community Award for Excellence 2011.” In addition, Kathryn Troutman published Dennis’s interview on “How Wounded Warriors Can Overcome Barriers to Federal Jobs” in the Jobseeker’s Guide (6th Ed).

Church successes include:

  • Feeding over 400 families monthly.
  • Sending over 200 care packages bi-monthly.
  • Performing marriages and memorial services.
  • Building a diverse ministry.

He resides in San Diego with his wife, three children, and 12 grandchildren. He holds a B.S. in Human Development from Christian Heritage College, an MBA focus in Leadership from Walden University, completed doctoral studies at the University of Phoenix, and received an Honorary Doctorate from Dimension University in Theology.
